Article VI, Section 6
1. Court Use and Reservation Rules. Tennis courts 9 and 10 will be available for pickleball bookings during times designated by the Tennis Captain and the tennis professionals. Those courts may also be used for pickleball play when they are Vacant Courts, as defined in Chapter 121. Reservations of the pickleball court on the North Lawn and of tennis courts 9 and 10 for pickleball play are subject to the same rules applicable to reservation of outdoor courts for tennis play. See Part A and Part D of Chapter 121. Availability of the pickleball court will be noted on GameTime.
2. Dress Code. The tennis dress code rules apply to pickleball players when using a tennis court. See Chapter 120. Standard athletic attire may be worn on the pickleball court.
3. Winter Use of Courts 7 and 8. Tennis courts 7 and 8 will be available for pickleball during the winter months of each year, starting January 1 and ending on March 31, utilizing the STC-owned removable temporary pickleball lines. Play shall end no later than 8:00 p.m. at which time the outdoor lights will be turned off and the temporary pickleball lines and all other related pickleball-related property owned by the STC will be returned to the guard shack by the members utilizing the courts.
12/5/24: Board approved winter use of courts 7 and 8 for pickleball, after a previous one-year-only approval for 2024.
4. Striping of Tennis Courts. There will be no permanent striping for pickleball allowed on courts 1-8. There may be temporary lines striped on courts 1-8 for pickleball special events only after receiving approval from the Tennis Committee and the Board, and as specified in Section 3 above.
