Chapter 112 – Food and Beverage

1. Alcohol Policy. In order to promote responsible sale and use of alcoholic beverages, it shall be the policy of the Seattle Tennis Club that: no employee of the Club shall furnish, sell, serve or otherwise supply liquor on the Club premises to any person who obviously appears to be intoxicated. The Club also requests members, visitors and guests on the Club premises to refrain from furnishing liquor to any person who obviously appears to be intoxicated. The Club shall not furnish, sell, serve or otherwise supply alcoholic beverages to a member or guest who is under age 21. Members shall not allow alcoholic beverages to be furnished, served or otherwise supplied to a member or guest who is under age 21 on the Club premises, whether by themselves or by their guests.

12/4/86: Adopted Section 1, alcohol policy; 2/23:23: Added last two sentences, expressly prohibiting service or provision of alcohol to minors by the Club or members.

2. No "To Go" Drinks. Alcoholic beverages shall not be taken from the premises of the Club.

3. No Outside Food or Beverage. Food and beverages may not be brought into the Club by members or guests, except (i) that members may bring cakes for birthday and similar celebrations being held at the Club and (ii) as agreed to in the contract for any special event, upon payment of the specified cake-cutting, corkage or similar fee.

4. Minimum Food Charge. See Chapter 115.

5. Service Charge and Tipping. No tipping is allowed by the members at the Club. There is no automatic service charge for any Food & Beverage service - including member dining and events - except a service charge is authorized for non-Club-sponsored events at the General Manager's discretion.

6. Table Games. Members shall not play table games in food service areas of the Club when other members are waiting for tables to dine.

7. Weddings During Tennis Week. See Chapter 123.

8. Juniors. See Chapter 113 for rules applicable to Juniors and others under age 21.

9. No Show and Cancellation Fees. See Chapter 110.
