Chapter 256 – Athletic Committee

B. Major Policies

The Athletic Committee shall review, and advise and make recommendations to staff and the Board regarding, athletic activities of the Club other than tennis and activities on tennis courts, including
(a) squash, basketball, swimming, massage services, fitness classes and boating and
(b) the equipment in and the use of the fitness room, the gymnasium, the swimming pool, the waterfront (beach and raft), the docks and the boathouse,
to promote the enjoyment, health, well-being and overall fitness of the Seattle Tennis Club members.

3/19/14: Amendment reflected the oversight of the squash program by the Athletic Committee, rather than the Tennis Committee.

3/24/20: Amendment rewrote this Section and others to
(i) make the description of the role of each standing committee reflect actual practice and the Board’s intention (informed by input from each committee), and to make the wording of the descriptions more consistent and
(ii) make more minor changes to the description of the composition of committees and the like.

C. Procedures

1. Meetings. The Athletic Committee meets at 5:00 pm on the first Wednesday of every month except July, November and December, or at such different or additional times as determined by the Chair.

2. Adoption and Modification. The procedures in Part C may be adopted and modified by resolution of the Athletics Committee, so long as they are consistent with the major policies in Part B, other Club rules and policies and any action by the Board of Trustees.
