Chapter 131 – Swimming Rules

A. Swimming Pool and Beach Rules

1. Lake Swimming. Swimming is allowed in the lake only when a lifeguard is present. No lifeguard will be on duty except during the summer months.

2. Children. Members and guests under 18 years old may not swim in the pool when a lifeguard is not on duty on the pool deck.

Children who wear diapers regularly are required to wear plastic pants or a swim diaper in the pool.

3. Dress Code. Members and guests are required to wear appropriate bathing suits.

4. Classes. During regularly scheduled swimming classes, use of the pool is restricted to those enrolled in the class, unless otherwise specified.

5. Prohibited Behavior. Roughhousing and running are not allowed in the pool area.

6. Food and Glassware. Food is not permitted on the pool deck, except during home swim and dive meets. Glassware is not allowed in the pool or waterfront area.

7. Lightning. Members are required to get out of the pool when there is lightning.

8. Towels. STC towels are not to be used on the beach or beach lawn. Members must bring their own beach towels for use in these areas.

9. Splash Pad. The maximum age for the splash pad is six years.

10. Pool Hours. During off-season (October through April), pool hours are 6:00 am to 8:30 pm. During summer season (May through September), pool hours are 6:00 am to 9:00 pm.

11. Additional Rules. The waterfront staff may make additional rules regarding use of the pool, beach and hot tubs, so long as they are consistent with other Club rules and policies and any action by the Board of Trustees. Additional rules will be posted at the beach and pool.

B. Hot Tub Rules

1. Children. There are two jetted hot tubs adjacent to the pool. One is for adults (18 and over), and the other is for children between the ages of 6-17. Children are not allowed in the adult hot tub under any circumstances. Children ages 6 to 17 may use the children's hot tub during regular pool hours when a lifeguard is present, except for adult swim periods. No child under the age of 6 may use either hot tub.

2. Cleanliness. A cleansing shower is required before entry. No one suffering from a communicable disease may use the hot tubs.

3. Capacity. Members and guest shall comply with the maximum hot tub capacities, as posted.

4. No Food or Beverages. No food or beverages are allowed in the hot tub area.

5. Health Issues. Please limit your use to 15 minutes at any one session. Anyone suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure should consult with a physician before use.

6. Intoxication. No one under the influence of drugs or alcohol may use the hot tub.

7. Prohibited Behavior. No running or horseplay.
